How to make LUT work with any footage?

When working with a LUT and noticing an intensity that might be overpowering for your footage, consider first adjusting your video's contrast, highlights, and vibrance values to achieve the desired outcome. This allows you to fine-tune the look before decreasing the LUT's opacity. It's important to note that reducing opacity can lead to a loss of the carefully crafted colour values embedded in the LUT. I've found optimal results by setting the opacity in the range of 70-90%, coupled with adjustments to contrast and highlights to achieve the perfect balance.

Extend the same principle to white balance adjustments. Should you observe your image leaning towards overly warm or cool tones, a straightforward correction of the white balance can swiftly rectify this issue. For optimal outcomes, it's advisable to address your footage's white balance before applying the LUT, ensuring a balanced and accurate foundation for your colour grading process.

Does it work on a Smartphone?

Absolutely! I consistently enhance the colour grading of my iPhone footage using the free VN app paired with our LUTs! Simply transfer the LUTs to your phone's Files app and seamlessly integrate them into your preferred video editing application. In my experience, I've found VN to be a reliable choice, and I highly recommend it for a seamless and user-friendly colour grading process.
